RideAustin to temporarily suspend operations for community safety.

Due to safety concerns regarding coronavirus (COVID-19), RideAustin will temporarily suspend operations beginning on Monday, March 30th at 12:00 AM.

Our top priority and concern will always be the safety and wellbeing of Austinites. Since launching in 2016, RideAustin has remained committed to serving the Austin community.

In that vein, we want to do all that we can to slow the spread of coronavirus and flatten the curve. As medical professionals and healthcare experts encourage social distancing, we believe that continuing operations would put our drivers and riders at risk. Because there are still so many unknowns about the virus and the effects that its spread will have on the community, we want to be prudent and proactive in doing our part to follow the recommendations.

We do not take this decision lightly, as we know that our users rely on our service. Given how quickly the virus has spread, we must make the responsible decision in order to protect both our drivers and riders. We are not closing permanently; rather, the suspension is temporary, and we will announce our restart date when we have more information.

We are truly all in this together, and we know that our community will emerge even stronger and more united!

Please direct any comments, concerns, or requests to support@rideaustin.com

Open data to provide transparency and promote research

Developed from the ground up to follow the City of Austin local ridesharing ordinances in 2016 while simultaneously offering a great, safe service.  We have opened up our data to give the public a view into the ridesharing model & provided researchers the ability to mine the data.
